Existing Without Apology wasn’t just a phrase. It became the way I chose to live.
This isn’t just the story of my career.
It’s the story behind my purpose.
Before the education.
Before the advocacy.
Before the leadership.
There was simply a young girl learning how to navigate a world that wasn’t always built with her in mind.
Every challenge, every barrier, and every experience shaped not only who I became, but how I serve others today.
Nichole Unfiltered was created from lived experience, strengthened by education, and driven by a simple belief:
People deserve support that is practical, compassionate, and human.
My name is Nichole Veronica Franken, and I was born and raised in Southern California.
I was born with Arthrogryposis, a physical disability that shaped the way I experienced the world from the very beginning. Growing up, I quickly learned that accessibility, inclusion, and understanding were not always guaranteed.
I learned how exhausting it could be to advocate for basic accommodations, explain my needs, and challenge assumptions before people even had the chance to know me.
Those experiences didn’t just teach me resilience.
They taught me empathy.
They taught me patience.
They taught me the importance of creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and respected.
Over the years, I realized that while my experiences were unique, the feeling of navigating barriers wasn’t.
People face different kinds of obstacles every day. Some are visible. Others are not. But many are searching for the same thing:
Someone who will listen.
Someone who understands.
Someone who can help them make sense of what feels overwhelming.
That perspective became one of the greatest gifts my journey gave me.
It taught me that meaningful support isn’t about having every answer.
It’s about walking alongside people as they find their own.
As I continued to grow, I realized something important.
The challenges I had spent years navigating had prepared me to help others navigate theirs.
Whether I was supporting a student working toward graduation, encouraging a professional facing a career transition, advocating alongside someone with a disability, or helping a family understand unfamiliar systems, I noticed something they all had in common.
They weren’t looking for someone to have a perfect solution.
They were looking for clarity.
For encouragement.
For practical guidance.
For someone who could meet them where they were without judgment.
That realization changed the direction of my life.
It inspired me to pursue higher education, deepen my understanding of advocacy and human services, and build a career centered on helping people move forward with confidence.
Today, every service I provide is rooted in that purpose.
I don’t believe people need to be rescued.
I believe they deserve to be informed.
To be prepared.
To be supported.
And to know they don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.
That belief became the foundation of Nichole Unfiltered, and it continues to guide every conversation, every resource, every workshop, and every person I have the privilege of serving.
Today, I am pursuing my Master of Social Work while continuing to build a career centered on advocacy, disability inclusion, education, systems navigation, leadership development, and community impact.
Everything I create is influenced by both lived experience and professional education.
I don’t approach people as problems to solve.
I approach them as human beings with stories, strengths, challenges, and goals.
I don’t just study systems.
I’ve lived inside them.
Every service I offer reflects that experience.
Whether I’m helping a student, supporting a family, advocating for accessibility, coaching a professional, or
partnering with an organization, my goal remains the same:
To help people feel informed, supported, and empowered to move forward with confidence.
Nichole Unfiltered exists because support should feel human.
People don’t always need someone to rescue them.
Sometimes they simply need someone who listens.
Someone who understands.
Someone who helps bring clarity.
That belief is the foundation of everything I do.
From that belief grew a mission, a vision, and a commitment that continues to guide every decision I make.
To provide practical guidance, advocacy, education, and meaningful support that empowers individuals, families, students, professionals, schools, nonprofits, and organizations to move forward with confidence.
To help create communities where accessibility, opportunity, inclusion, and authentic support are available to everyone.

My education didn’t replace my lived experience.
It strengthened my ability to advocate, educate, and serve others more effectively.
While advocacy, education, and service are at the heart of what I do, they aren’t the only parts of who I am.
Outside of my professional work, I’m someone who values meaningful conversations, genuine connections, and the simple moments that remind us to slow down. I cherish time with my family, especially making memories with the people I love and embracing one of my favorite roles, being an auntie and godmother.
You’ll often find me with an iced coffee in hand, enjoying a quiet morning, spending time near the water, getting lost in a good book, or dreaming up new ways to educate, advocate, and create resources that make a difference.
At the end of the day, I’m simply someone who believes people deserve to feel seen, supported, and valued, both in life’s biggest moments and in the everyday ones.
Because behind every title, every accomplishment, and every role I hold, I’m just Nichole.
And that’s exactly how I hope you’ll always know me.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I’d love the opportunity to learn about you, too.
Whether you’re looking for advocacy, guidance, education, collaboration, or simply want to learn more about my work, I’d love to connect.
